Why Australian Joinery Expertise Built a Factory in Vietnam
Most offshore manufacturing stories start with cost. A company looks at its margins, decides production is too expensive at home, and moves operations somewhere cheaper. The quality risk is managed — or not — from there.
Pacific Joinery's story starts differently.
The Team Behind the Factory
Pacific Joinery was built by the team behind Creador — an Australian joinery brand with over 20 years of design and installation experience across high-end residential and commercial projects. Creador was not a volume manufacturer. It was a design-focused business that understood joinery from the inside out: how it's drawn, how it's made, how it goes together on site, and what happens when something doesn't fit.
That knowledge base is what Pacific Joinery was built on. The Ho Chi Minh City facility was not built by people who knew factories and then learned joinery. It was built by people who knew joinery — and then asked: what does the best possible manufacturing system look like if we build it from scratch, in the right location, with the right scale?
Why Vietnam
Vietnam's emergence as a world-class joinery and furniture manufacturing hub is well established. The country's woodworking industry has invested heavily in precision manufacturing infrastructure over the past two decades. The workforce is skilled, the supply chain for quality materials and hardware is mature, and the export logistics to the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are well developed.
Ho Chi Minh City, specifically, offers manufacturing infrastructure, port access, and a concentration of skilled trades that make it the right location for an export-focused joinery facility at scale.
What It Means in Practice
The combination of Australian design expertise and Vietnamese manufacturing scale produces something that neither side of that equation could produce alone.
A boutique Australian joinery firm cannot supply 300 kitchens per month at a price point that works for large-scale residential development. A factory-first Vietnamese manufacturer without deep design and project knowledge cannot reliably serve the US East Coast, Canadian, and Australian markets at the specification levels those markets demand.
Pacific Joinery is the result of bridging those two things deliberately — not accidentally, and not as a cost exercise.
Who Pacific Joinery Is Built For
The business was purpose-built for mid- to high-density residential developments, education projects, and healthcare fitouts in export markets. It is not trying to be everything to everyone. It is trying to be the most reliable, highest-quality joinery supply partner available to developers and builders who need volume, consistency, and a specification that holds up.
That focus is not a limitation. It's a design decision.
